SYNOPSIS

A girl, mute and alone, goes from the city to a river that is entangled into ancient tracksand a thick forest: she seems to take a terrible sorrow into the bowels of that beauty. She’s Angela: she’s 12 years old and she has three stepsisters around their 30s. All of them, daughters of a charismatic slacker who just died, meet for the first time at the funeral. Angela, who hasn’t met any of her relatives different to her father, and doesn’t even remember her mother, must find a new home by crossing half of the country. Her stepsisters accept to take her with them before sending her to state care. During this mourning journey, and specially the four days they spend in a cheap hotel because of a landslide on the road, Angela will recognize in her stepsisters, femininity, sensuality, the mysteries of pleasure and pain, the body, misfortune, and the challenge of being a woman in those lands.
